Weeks 12-16.
adolescent phase, marked by growing independence, curiosity, and the arrival of permanent teeth (teething). At this time, it is recommended to reduces the amount of retrieving being done - their mouths hurt! NO Forse fetch at this time however with our pups we normally skip that due to a lack of need, they deliver to hand without issue naturally. They require intense socialization, consistent training, and boundary setting as they test limits, become more confident in new environments. Every meal every treat is a learning opportunity.

Gun Dog Exposer - introductions to bumpers, birds, boats, bridges, holding blinds, distant gunfire sounds

physical Maturity: Increased coordination, less awkward movements, and faster, more deliberate running.

Teething: Permanent teeth begin to emerge, causing increased chewing, which requires supervised,, safe toys.

Independence ("Flight" Instinct): Puppies begin testing boundaries and exploring further away from their owner, signaling a need for firmer, consistent training.

Confidence Boost: Generally less fearful, more adventurous, and capable of handling new environments (e.g., traffic, new locations).

Health: Third set of vaccines and rabies vaccinations are usually completed.
Behavioral and Training Focus

Socialization: The crucial window continues; focus on exposing them to 12 different surfaces, objects, locations, and types of people.

Basic Obedience: Start formal training for commands like "come" (recall), "sit," "stay," and "down".

House Training: Their bladder control is improving; but require strict, consistent schedules.

Mental Stimulation: Use training sessions (10-15 minute bursts) and puzzle toys to keep them occupied and curb destructive chewing.
